He Touched a Toilet!

It’s kind of funny how a toddler can work an iPhone better than his parents, but can’t eat a sandwich without getting mustard all over his hands and face.

My son is notorious for grabbing food with his entire hand and shoving it in his mouth with his palm. I’ve tried to show him that he can use his pinchers (just like on the phone) but he “forgets” soon after.

I think it’s just more fun for him to make a mess!

When we’re at home I’m all about using soap and water to clean him up, but when we’re out and about it’s not always easy to find a sink. I was recently asked to try out the individual pocket size Wet Ones so I just stuck a few in his backpack to keep with us for such an occation.

And oh what an occasion we had.

The other day I took my three year old to the restroom. When he finished I was helping him adjust his shorts. To my horror, the seat was up so he grabbed the toilet bowl with BOTH HANDS. Not because he was losing balance. Not because he needed to hold on to something. Just because.

I did my best not to freak out. But inside I was cringing and screaming eeewwww!!!!

So I wisked him over to the sink to wash his hands. But guess what?

No soap. NO SOAP!

My heart stopped for a second until I remembered the Wet Ones in his bag. The Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes packages say they kill 99.99% of germs so I wisked one out and scrubbed his little hands the best I could! Then I pulled out another wipe hoping to get that last .01%.

Some germs are okay. But, toilet bowl germs, they are not okay!
