Ever Had a Do-over Moment?

Before the days of iDreamofClean and before the days of kids, I wasn’t nearly the clean and organized person I am today. Granted, I’m not always clean and organized now. But I definitely didn’t implement cleaning habits like making up the bed every day or cleaning the kitchen every night. That means there were days dishes piled up. High.

One day my husband and I made an impromptu decision to invite 2 couples over. One couple we knew fairly well while the other couple was new to our circle of friends.

I really don’t know what we were thinking because we had been working all day and knew the house was messy. What I didn’t realize was that the kitchen was a disaster. And when I say disaster, I mean it looked like something exploded in there.

We walked into the house and entered the living area that looked directly into the kitchen. Immediately we saw what had to have been the messiest kitchen in the world.

The sink was full. The counters were covered. There was even leftover food sitting out.

It was embarrassing to say the least. And it certainly wasn’t the first impression we wanted to give our new friends.

It was a moment that needed a do-over. If only I could have gone back in time to at least load my dishwasher (although it probably would have taken 3 loads!).
