Spring Clean

SPRING CLEANING, HERE WE COME!!

I have been giddy with excitement the last few months waiting for the Spring Cleaning season to arrive. Not because I want to clean. No, no. That’s not it at all. I’ve been excited because I want to help you get motivated to clean and organize your home.

How can I help motivate you? Well glad you asked!

I’ve teamed up with some Ah-mazing bloggers who are ready to inspire you to make your home the best it can be! On the first day of Spring, March 20, we’ll each tackle one area of the home and share insights and tips to make your own project easier.  Then we’ll open up a combined linky so you can link up your own Spring Cleaning efforts posted on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, don’t worry…you can still participate by linking up a photo album housed on Google+, Flicker, etc.

We’ll be sharing the most inspirational, helpful, or exciting posts on Facebook, twitter, and this shared Spring Cleaning Pinterest Board. So make your posts good!! :)

Of course, the co-hosts each have their own area of expertise so make sure to stop by their blogs to subscribe (and follow them on Facebook, Pinterest & Twitter) an hear from some of the BEST!

I’m a wife. I’m a mom. And I don’t like to clean! With a house full of boys, though, cleaning is inevitable. That's why I've made it my mission to find the best organizing and cleaning tips. Hopefully, those tips will help us spend less time cleaning and more time with the ones we love.

I have actually been cleaning since the first of the year and I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’m almost done with the inside of my home and then I go to the garage attic! Yay! I don’t know if I will do this challenge, but I will look at all the tips to see if there are some things I need to do. Thanks!

So we can write our posts now about our “spring cleaning” and then link up when you officially start the challenge? Plus does it have to be tips or can it be anything spring cleaning related? I wanna make sure I follow all the rules. :)

We’re moving in 2 weeks….am sort of doing some cleaning here but not exerting much effort as the house is going to be redone…almost totally remodeled. But I’ll do a good cleaning on our new place and am clearing out clutter and getting rid of stuff that we’re ‘done’ with…so it’s sort of spring cleaning!

Oh, my! We are currently living with my in laws. We were relocating in January, and planning on staying with them until we found a rental we liked. Then both my husband and I lost our employment within two weeks of each other! We are starting to get back on our feet, and will be moving into a house we are renting in May. Anyway…lol We really really need a washer and dryer as we will be using our first few paychecks to play catch up from having no income! This would be such a blessing. Thank you so much for hosting this. My mother in law is going to be out of town for the next three weeks, so she will love coming home to a house that has been spring cleaned :)

I’m in. I don’t like cleaning and pretty much have to Spring Clean the house. I’d like a clean home but I get overwhelmed cleaning. I’m hoping that the tips will help and motivate me to do better.

Oh, AWESOME! I am totally in. For Lent, I am throwing or giving away 15 things a day. It has been frighteningly easy to find 15 things to get rid of!! I have a tiny house and we get crowded up in here QUICK – so this is perfect!

I don’t have a blog but this is just what I’m looking for! I’m not the most organized but I would love to be inspired to make a change so that I can have a peaceful environment for my family instead of clutter. This is fabulous! So do I do some projects myself before the 20th and share those photos that day or do I start projects during that time? Super excited!

Really want to do this. Wonder if I can get everything done during nap-time each day. Perhaps a super clean house is motivation to work really hard during this time for two weeks and get it done!

I need to do my spring cleaning so badly it isn’t funny. My son and I built a hoophouse in our backyard and the house has been playing second fiddle to it since I started in Dec! With the weather getting warmer, the draw to stay outside in the hoophouse and ignore the house is almost impossible. We have strawberry plants, garlic, cat grass, and a few others already peaking their shoots out of the ground in there.

BUT we are on our yearly vacation and down south (we live in cold Wisconsin) so the weather outside here is 80′F during the day and we are staying in a furnished yurt that is clean and totally uncluttered. Makes me long for things to be this easy at home to take care of things.

I’m ready! I’m not quite as ambitious as you, as I have a lot of clutter, but your list gave me some great ideas. I tend to over-plan (make too long of a list), and get overwhelmed. I think this time I’ll look at each room and pick one thing that really needs to be done, and go from there.

Reply

Milenda March 21, 2012 at 9:51 am

What helps me is to make 2 lists. One for things that HAVE to be done, and also another list that is a Wish List. That way my have to’s get done, but then if I get even 1 of my wish list items completed, I feel a great accomplishment! Something I WISH I could get done and finished instead of it all being drudgery. (mine this year is putting up new drapes to cover the verticle blinds. I was gifted with curtains and 1 bar by someone who switched to a new material for hers but need to retro fit it a bit to reach farther out to hide the blinds)

My entire house needs some spring cleaning, but my craft room is HORRIBLE!!!! I mean I can’t even walk through it. It has now become a catch all room :( I will have to post before and after pics. This room alone will take the whole summer, but I feel very motivated having an entire group of women doing it with me!

Reply

Milenda March 22, 2012 at 8:40 am

I think we need to have a craft room before/after shots as a separate challenge after the spring cleaning one!! I would participate! Something like the sites biggest Organizer LOL (knock off of biggest Loser)

Jennifer March 21, 2012 at 2:57 pm

I LOVE spring cleaning!! I’ve already been working for about 2 weeks around my house. That’s because it is in dire need. I have a 17 month old and a 5 month old so needless to say a lot of the “deep cleaning” has been put off since before I found out I was pregnant with my first. Sooo excited for my house to be back up to my standards…and hopefully keep it that way :) I have A TON of new “homemade cleaner” recipes and different tricks I’ve tried in the past month or so that are a lifesaver and make cleaning fun. Happy Spring everyone!!!!!
