Baby Steps to a More Natural Lifestyle

in Products

Little by little, we’re making changes in our  family to live a more natural lifestyle. I make most of our food from scratch, use some homemade cleaning products, and even cloth diaper when we’re home.

Although it’s becoming increasingly easier, living this way does takes extra time. There’s something about just buying pre-made food and products and using them right out of the box that is very convenient!

Let me tell you, convenience is important when it comes to bath time at our house. The pre-schooler is pretty self-sufficient now but adding another bath time to the mix for the newborn has been a challenge. That’s why I was intrigued to try Johnson’s Baby Natural skin products. Convenient. And Natural.

I really like the pump action for all the products, but especially the shampoo and foaming baby wash. With a little one, you don’t want to have to use both hands to pour the baby wash out. With the pump I can use one hand to get the shampoo or baby wash and keep the other hand on the little bambino.

Plus all of the products are at least 98% natural. No dyes. No silicones. No essential oils.

Convenient and natural!

Maybe one day I’ll look into making my own baby wash, but for now, this seems to be a great option!

What steps are you taking to live more naturally?

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson’s Natural and received a product sample to facilitate my review, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

I’m a wife. I’m a mom. And I don’t like to clean! With a house full of boys, though, cleaning is inevitable. That's why I've made it my mission to find the best organizing and cleaning tips. Hopefully, those tips will help us spend less time cleaning and more time with the ones we love.

We’re green cleaners in our home, too. Most recently, we’ve been making our own laundry detergent, which is not only a greener option, but a less costly one, too. While I love the idea behind Johnson’s natural line of products for babies, I would never in a million years buy them because of the support they give to Planned Parenthood. Seems ironic that a company that claims to care about babies funds the largest provider of abortions.

Really? I had not heard that. I’ll definitely be looking into it.

Here’s the website I learned this on: http://fightpp.org/
I was saddened to see them on here, frankly, because I used to use their products years ago, but have since stopped.

It would be great if they made an ORGANIC product. The labeling of “natural” is not regulated so this doesn’t actually mean much sadly. It would be great if it did but alas no one regulates the use of the word natural so it doesn’t mean that the products are actually natural or found in nature as many of us want to believe. They science experiments of products that could be “derived” from natural sources, but that doesn’t make them safe to use on the human body let alone babies. I always opt for an organic product versus a natural and work hard to stay away from the toxic chemicals that are in so many products. Each step is a step in the right direction so I commend them for taking a step but I do hope to see more in the future!
