Washing Mixed Loads of Laundry *GIVEAWAY*

in Products

Making one good choice often leads to another good choice. Whether it’s choosing a delicious, juicy apple over a piece of cake or picking up one piece of clothing from the bottom of your closet every time to enter, each choice we make matters. Each positive choice we make pushes us towards our goal, whatever that goal may be.

When it comes to laundry, my goal is to keep the pile to a minimum.

The only way I’ve been able to prevent the mound from making it’s way up to the ceiling is to wash one load every single day. Unless my schedule prevents it, or for some random reason there isn’t anything in the laundry basket, I wash, dry and fold laundry each and every day.

Sometimes it’s a load of towels. Other times it’s the bed linens. Most of the time, though, I just rotate washing dark and white laundry. Every once in a while I get all crazy and and mix the two together!  That’s where Shout Color Catcher with Oxi comes in.

  • The color catcher allows mixed washes and helps prevent color runs.
  • The oxi booster brightens whites and colors and helps fight stains.
  • It can even be used in top loading and front loading machines.

If your looking to save a bit of time and keep your laundry pile under control, Shout Color Catcher with Oxi may just be your answer. Get it at a discount by grabbing coupons off their Facebook page (and visit me while you’re there). Two lucky readers can even get it FREE! Just leave a comment below telling me how often you do laundry. (Entries now closed. Congratulations Amy and Staci!)

This giveaway is open to all U.S. and Canadian residents. Comments will close at midnight CST on Tuesday, January 24. A winner will be chosen using the And the winner is… plugin, emailed for confirmation and have 48 hours to respond before a new winner is selected.

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Shout and received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

I was doing 2 loads a week for my husband and me, but that was in a big coin-operated washing machine. We just moved to a house, and it was two weeks before I had a working washing machine. I’ve done 2 loads the last 2 days and have at least 2 more to do…I might catch up by the end of the week!

I typically sort but have lately gone to doing my boys laundry in one load on the sanatize cycle because potty-training is on going. :-)

Clarissa January 17, 2012 at 10:05 pm

I have finally been doing laundry every other day because it is only the 2 of us, for now, I was in the rut of doing it only once a week and for me, that just didn’t work.

Misty Reynolds January 17, 2012 at 10:44 pm

I do laundry daily also. Some days several loads. I’m like where does it all come from. Haha

Tanna January 17, 2012 at 10:53 pm

I wash and dry one load a day sometimes two if there seems to be too much (learned it from reading your blog). Thanks for the giveaway.

maura gondek January 17, 2012 at 11:13 pm

I do at least one load a day – proving easier to stay on top of it this way.

Cynthia January 17, 2012 at 11:15 pm

With 3 kids that play sports year-round and a husband who’s coaching at least one of them, the only way I can survive and keep my sanity is to do AT LEAST a load a day! The washer, dryer, and dishwasher don’t know the meaning of ‘off’ because they’re constantly running! I’d love to try out the Shout Color Catcher with Oxy!

Hi! I usually do a load every day….I have a 1 and 2 year old and a hubby who works out and also works outdoors…i always wash the kids clothes together (with mine)…then hubby’s and don’t usually sort darks and lights unless something is new, but I’d love to see if the color catcher would make a difference! Thanks!

My laundry schedule is probably the ONE schedule that I don’t waver from. :) I do mine and my husbands on Monday, our daughters’ on Tues and the linens and towels on Wed or Thur, depending on what I have going on. This has worked perfectly for me. It’s never too much at one time and I can *usually* get it all done before my hubby gets home from work. (as I sit here with clean clothes on the floor waiting to be folded…)

I like to do 6 loads a week, usually 1 a day & taking one day to fold all of the clothes that have to air dry!!

I am now trying to do one load a day- which is like beating me over the head due to infinite laziness. However, it is nice not to see huge piles of clothes!!

Amy Fischer January 18, 2012 at 3:14 pm

Every day because if I don’t, it gets piled up which is what happened over the weekend.

KJean January 18, 2012 at 3:14 pm

Like you, I do laundry pretty much every day. It’s not at all unsual for me to have about 3 loads to do a day. Everyones clothes get put together, although the 3 older children do know how to do their own laundry. I frequently enlist their help in getting the clothes, etc cleaned.

Rita January 18, 2012 at 3:36 pm

I usually do laundry twice during the week and then do the rest on the weekend.

Tasha January 18, 2012 at 3:56 pm

I try to wash a load a day. The folding and putting away are another matter. I get sidetracked and before I know it I have two or three loads waiting for me to fold them. Laundry is the one thing I would like to get on top of this year.

Thanks,
Tasha

I do wash about twice a week–there is only my hubby and me now–all 6 children are married

i do laundry on mondays and tuesdays in the winter and just mondays the rest of the year. i do not use the drier but hang my clothes out on the line to save energy. it takes longer for the clothes to dry in the winter. it is very easy to fold clothes as you take them off the line and i take hangers out with me to hang the clothes that need to be. i only have four loads a week, but there are only two of us. i want to make sure my loads are completely full also for energy wise reasons. i also wear my clothes more than once. i wear an apron while working around the house so my clothes don’t get dirty. washing clothes wears them out. after i have worn something if it is not dirty i hang it on my full length mirror so it doesn’t get mixed in with the clean clothes in the closet. The next morning all i have to do is pull it off the mirror, any wrinkles have hung out during the night, and put it on. i also make all of my own laundry soap as i don’t like the chemicals in detergent and what they do to the environment.

Amanda Hoffman January 18, 2012 at 5:09 pm

tung ton January 18, 2012 at 5:10 pm

weekly

Jo January 18, 2012 at 5:42 pm

With two in cloth diapers, I typically do at least one load per day, and sometimes up to 3 or 4. :-D

Kim January 18, 2012 at 6:46 pm

I do laundry everyday as well but I hate folding and putting away so sometimes that takes me a few more days!! I combine my laundry though because even thought there are 4 of us (almost 5!) I am not patient enough to wait for a full load of whites or darks!

Staci Thummel January 19, 2012 at 7:58 am

I’ve been a fan of Color Catchers for several years. This is one product that is a “Gotta Have It”. They used to put 55cent coupons inside the box and I used a ton of those coupons! Now they’ve stopped the coupons but I am hooked. I do at least 2 loads a day (with 4 children in sports), and I’d love to get some Color Catchers for free. Thank you!

I wash approximately 2 to 3 loads of laundry daily, ugghhh. We have 2 children and 3 adults living here and there is a ton of laundry.

I tend to do one load of laundry every day, just like you!

Karen January 23, 2012 at 10:28 am

I do laundry once a week because it works best for us to stay home all day once a week.

Joanna January 24, 2012 at 4:59 pm

I do three loads of laundry every three days.
