Do One Thing

in Do One Thing

Do you ever procrastinate on the little things? The things that will only take a few minutes but for some reason you just never get around to doing them.

You may think about those little things often and wonder why you just don’t get up and do them. Every little thing you procrastinate on is taking up valuable real estate in your brain. Knowing you need to do a few small things can constantly bog you down and distract you from what is most important.

By taking a few minutes to do just one of those little things will give you a sense of accomplishment.
It will make the rest of your day more productive.
It will let you focus.

Do you want to know one simple thing I need to do today? Put WD-40 on my front door. I know. I know! It’s so simple. And it will only take about 30 seconds total to pick up the bottle, spray on the hinge and put the WD-40 back in its place. Then, every time my husband or I needs to leave before the kiddo is awake we won’t fret about waking him up.

It’s one little thing I can do to maintain my home, clear my mind, and feel some sort of accomplishment. Then I can focus on what really matters!
What about you? What one thing can you do today?

Your idea is helpful and true. Something I’ve procrastinated doing is wiping out the interior of my fridge. Today will be the day!

Go for it! And, maybe let us know when it’s finished :-)

Calling the vet to make an appointment for the cat to get fixed. I think that’s been on the list for 2 litters of kittens now? We need to get it done before a 3rd!

You are so right. If we just do just one thing a day, we will eventually get caught up on all the tiny issues that bug us. I have been trying to do that for the last week or so. Thanks for the inspiration and transparency! My one thing for today is cleaning the sliding glass patio doors and trying to fix the curtain rod that is above them. :D
