Baseboards.
They’re beautiful, decorative jewelry for the home.
They’re also one of the most forgotten and most difficult places to clean.
Since dusty baseboards can make a sparkling home look dingy and feel dirty, it’s important to clean them every once in a while. Of course, it’s probably not one of your favorite tasks, but perhaps it will be once you find out how easy it can be to clean them.
To easily clean baseboards…
use a clean, soft-bristled broom to knock the dust right off those beveled edges.
By using a broom, cleaning baseboards no longer has to be back breaking work. Plus, if you add this task to your cleaning schedule (just 3 or 4 times per year) it won’t take much time.
How’s that for a quick tip?
Do you clean your baseboards? If so, do you have a different way?

Nice tip, but it doesn’t work for me! Mine require scrubbing:(
Well, I completely understand that. Mine require scrubbing as well….unless I dust them often with the broom. I think the key is to not let the dust accumulate too long (which I know is easier said than done!).
I clean my baseboard once a month usually with a swiffer duster with the extended arm. It pics up most of the dust without getting too much on the floor.
I use the soft bristled brush of my Dyson vac, which works pretty well. I’ve also had my oldest clean them as a consequence for writing on furniture. I guess it must have worked — no more writing on furniture!
The vacuum is my absolute favorite way to clean baseboards! Actually, vacuuming seems to be one of the best ways to clean just about anything :) I purchased a floor model Dyson at a discount and it was missing a few attachments. I’ve been meaning to call and order replacements but have procrastinated….this may be the motivation I need!
I periodically use the long skinny attachment on my vacuum. A few Q-tips work as well for the kids when they are in a helpful mood–or as a consequence!
I spotless my baseboard one time a month typically with a swiffer rag with the comprehensive limb. It pics up mainly of the powder lacking being paid too much on the ground.
I wrap a towel around the broom and spray the baseboard with a mixture of lemon, vinegar and Baking soda and voalaaa
