The Busy Woman’s Way to Dust and Mop Floors

in Cleaning House, Floors, Products

Cleaning hard surface floors can sometimes seem like an all consuming chore. One the one hand, you can see the dust and dirt that accumulates on them. It only takes a few minutes to sweep it up. But, on the other hand, you can see the dust and dirt that accumulates on them! So, you can’t ignore the mess for days like you can with carpeted flooring. When you have hardwood, tile, linoleum, or other hard surface flooring it can seem like they need to be cleaned every time you turn around.

Well, I got to try out a little gadget that’s perfect for the person who has other things to do besides sweep and mop their floors. (Anyone out there fall into that category? Yeah, I thought so!) It’s called the Mint Floor Cleaner. Want to see how it works? Check out this quick little video I shot while trying it out:

Fun, right?

It took about 30 seconds to set up once I took it out of the box. All I did was put the cloth on the bottom of the Mint (just like you do with a Swiffer) and then set it down in the middle of the floor. Then I put its GPS tracker close by on a table and pushed a button so they could sync. Then, the Mint took off and began to sweep the floors for me. When it got close to furniture, it would slow down and maneuver back and forth until it found a way to move around it. It was pretty fun to watch!

I didn’t watch it the entire time though. I thought it would be better to let it do the work for me while I got a few other things knocked off my list!

That’s my kind of multi-tasking!

I’m a wife. I’m a mom. And I don’t like to clean! With a house full of boys, though, cleaning is inevitable. That's why I've made it my mission to find the best organizing and cleaning tips. Hopefully, those tips will help us spend less time cleaning and more time with the ones we love.

Oh, I like this. I have all wood floors. Is the cloth reusable/washable? I wonder if it can maneuver around moving children.

The cloths are reusable and washable! That’s a huge plus in my book!! I’m not sure about the moving children part though since I tried mine during nap time :-) I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t run into them but it creates kind of a “map” of your home every time you use it. So, I suppose the map wouldn’t be absolutely perfect if the little ones are running around.
