Easy Way to Defrost a Freezer

080730 defrosting emergency

Does your freezer ice up periodically? If so, you’ll love this trick!

When your freezer is empty and frost-free, spray the sides with non-stick cooking spray. The next time you need to defrost your freezer, the ice and frost will just slide off the sides of the freezer.

Hopefully there won’t be any need to unplug the freezer, spend hours chipping away at the ice, or messing up your towels trying to prevent the melting ice from leaking all over the floor. Instead you just have to find something fun to do with all the time you’ll save!

While you’re here, make sure you enter the Toweloc giveaway so you can have one less thing to pick up!

Thanks for sharing! Our fridge is self-defrosting, but someday I may need this tip! :)

Would you mind adding a link back to KTT? Thanks! :)

Thank for this trick- I’ll have to pass this on to my friend who regularly has to chip ice away out of her freezer. fortunately my freezer isnt of that variety.

Neat tip! Our standalone freezer requires manual defrosting, and it’s not a job that anyone looks forward to. :)
