So, Your Little Artist Drew ALL Over the Walls!

Crayon Tips

Do you have a budding artist in your home? Your little Michelangelo can probably work wonders with a crayon and always proudly shows you the masterpiece while you ooh and aah.

Although you may want to display their artwork on your walls, you’d probably prefer that the art is not actually drawn on the walls! Well, sometimes the artist’s inspiration takes over and your walls are covered like the Sistine Chapel with crayon. Have no fear.

Here’s an easy way to remove crayon marks from your painted walls

To remove crayon marks from your walls, use a squirt of white toothpaste on a dry cloth and rub gently. You can also form a paste with baking soda and water to scrub the crayon off your walls.

Have you ever had art drawn on your walls? How did you remove it?

MY daughter has colored all over the wall of her room. Pencil, crayon, pen. All are represented. This tip will come in handy.

Nice! Wouldn’t it be fun to just let them go to town and have fun…then repaint later?!

Will this work for pencil marks? Or do you have a hint that will? Just found pencil this morning! My Mr. Clean Eraser works great on crayons as does Goo-Goo Gone (both of which I’ve had to use this week–I don’t know where my 2yo keeps finding these crayons!!!) but neither have worked well on the pencil marks on our textured wall.

It should work for pencil marks as well. I would try the baking soda option before the toothpaste options though. And, depending on the texture of the wall, you may want to use a soft toothbrush rather than a cloth so it can get in the grooves. But, have you tried an eraser? A high-quality eraser? The cheap ones will often smear the pencil mark. Depending on how textured your wall is this may or may not work.

Although I’ve never personally used it, my friend swears by the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Says it takes just about everything off!

I’m another thumbs upper for Magic Eraser, too. I’ve gotten pen marks off the wall, crayon, etc. etc.

This tip would have come in handy a couple of years ago! I took the paint off the wall trying to get the crayon off, LOL. Filing this away for future reference…

There are several ways to remove crayon from walls that I know work well. These include the magic eraser, toothpaste (as long as it is white toothpaste), WD-40, goo gone, and a warm iron.

Does this really work!? I’m embarrassed to say I have had some orange coloring on my wall for months. I am going to try this out this afternoon! Thanks for the tip.
