How to Remember When to Flip Your Mattress

in Bedroom, Link-ups, Real Clean Wednesday

Apparently they have a no-flip mattresses out now. My mattress, however, is one that must be flipped every three months. I don’t know about you, but a lot happens in my world in three months. So the only way for my little brain to remember to flip my mattress on time is to have a mattress flipping ceremony at the change of every season. Okay, there’s no pomp and circumstance. But it is quite an ordeal for this 5’2″ frame!

The thing is, every time I go to flip my mattress, I can’t remember if I just flipped or if I flipped and rotated the last time. So, this is my solution.

flipping a mattress

Remembering which way to flip your mattress can be easy with this little trick!

One side of the mattress has the label Spring/Winter on it and the other side has Fall/Summer. The current season goes on top at the foot of the bed. I use a post-it but you could certainly write it on the mattress with a sharpie or pen.

That’s my trick for remembering how and when to flip my mattress!

Now it’s your turn to link up and share a tip!

I’m a wife. I’m a mom. And I don’t like to clean! With a house full of boys, though, cleaning is inevitable. That's why I've made it my mission to find the best organizing and cleaning tips. Hopefully, those tips will help us spend less time cleaning and more time with the ones we love.

Great tip!! I’ve also gotten half way turning & flipping & had to remember where I was headed!!!

(and just as an fyi – I tried to follow the rules & put my blog name & title in parenthesis, but the field wasn’t long enough … I guess my blog name is too long!! I couldn’t shrink it to anything that made sense.)

Ha! I’ve done the exact same thing!
No big deal about the name….didn’t realize the field was so short! Thanks for linking!

    Great idea!

My mattress doesn’t flip…but I wish it did.
I just rotate it every few months.

My mattress is a pillow top, so we can only rotate it. But your ideas would really help to remember which way to flip.

My mattress doesn’t flip either, but my husband keeps wanting to flip it. I think the bedroom in our tiny house is actually too small to flip our mattress anyway.

I wouldn’t mind flipping my mattress except I’m currently living in an apartment that came furnished and the landlady asked that I not flip it. Not sure why, except she knew we’d only be here for 6 months (moving out in April!!) and probably just assumed I wouldn’t want to do it.

Great idea! We have a pillow top so can only rotate it. But I will use this for our kids matresses. Thanks!
